Christmas in the City is an annual holiday giveaway dedicated to supporting and uplifting underserved youth in the very communities where we live, work, and play. This cherished tradition brings joy, hope, and excitement to families during the holiday season by ensuring that every child—regardless of financial circumstances—can experience the magic of receiving a brand-new gift.

Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, partners, and community supporters, we have proudly provided children with bikes, scooters, and big wheels for several years. Each year, the event continues to grow, transforming into a vibrant celebration filled with laughter, gratitude, and unforgettable memories.

More than a giveaway, Christmas in the City is a heartwarming community experience. It brings people together, strengthens neighborhood bonds, and reminds us all of the power of giving. This joy-filled event reflects our shared commitment to creating brighter futures for our youth—one smile, one family, and one holiday moment at a time.

L.E.M.O.N.A.D.E

L.E.M.O.N.A.D.E. stands for Living Every Moment Optimistically Nonstop And Defying Expectations—a powerful acronym that captures the spirit, resilience, and creativity of the African American community.

Founded in 2018, LEMONADE is more than a day party; it is a vibrant cultural experience that celebrates the richness of African American arts and expression. The event showcases an electrifying fusion of music, dance, beauty, fashion, and culinary artistry—creating an atmosphere where culture, creativity, and community unite.

Originally held at the historic Hampton-Preston Mansion & Gardens in Columbia, the L.E.M.O.N.A.D.E. Cultural Day Party Experience found its new home in September 2024 at the renowned EdVenture Children’s Museum, marking an exciting new chapter for this beloved event.

An impromptu, fashion-forward runway showcase

L.E.M.O.N.A.D.E. was created by, and proudly supports, Higher Heights EDU, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to uplifting youth through arts, education, and cultural enrichment. A portion of event proceeds directly funds educational programs in visual and performing arts for African American youth, as well as initiatives supporting emerging African American entrepreneurs.
